Our partnerships ensure that our students receive a world-class learning experience, preparing them for success in higher education and beyond. We are officially accredited by the Ministry of Education of Tajikistan and are a proud member of the Cambridge Assessment International Education program, offering the Cambridge curriculum from Primary to Advanced levels. As a Cambridge International School, we uphold the highest standards in teaching and assessment.
Dushanbe International School (DIS) was established on September 1, 1997, as a joint venture between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Tajikistan and the Shelale Educational Corporation. During its early years, the management and staffing of the school were primarily overseen by the Shelale Corporation.
In 2004, DIS became a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), signifying its commitment to providing high-quality international education aligned with global standards.
In 2005, DIS joined the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), further strengthening its network within the international education community.
DIS was accredited by Cambridge Assessment International Education, officially becoming a Cambridge Exams Center. Since then, the school has followed the Cambridge International curriculum, offering a globally recognized educational program.
In January, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Tajikistan took over the shares of Shelale Educational Corporation, becoming the sole owner and governor of the school. This marked a significant transition, bringing the school under full government administration.
DIS achieved full CIS Accreditation, becoming the first and only CIS-accredited school in Tajikistan. This milestone highlighted the school’s excellence in international education and adherence to high standards. Unfortunately, the school lost its CIS accreditation status in late 2022 due to administrative changes and the adverse impacts of COVID-19 on the school.
